Aalim-e-Deen ki Fazilat
Abu Huraira (ra) reported Allah's Messenger (pbuh) as saying: "He who called (people) to righteousness, there would be reward (assured) for him like the rewards of those who adhered to it, without their rewards being diminished in any respect. And the who called (people) to error, he shall have to carry (the burden) of its sin, like whose who committed it, without their sins being diminished in any respect."
Sahih Muslim, Book of Knowledge, Hadith No. 6470
Narrated Abdullah bin Amr bin Al'As: I heard Allah's Apostle (pbuh) saying, "Allah does not take away the knowledge, by taking it away from (the hearts of) the people, but takes it away by the death of the religious learned men till when none of the (religious learned men) remains, people will take as their leaders ignorant persons who when consulted will give their verdict without knowledge. So they will go astray and will lead the people astray."
